Go For Life Group

The GWRA Survey in 2014 identified numerous activities which were of interest to residents including Exercise for older people during the day.

Sylvia Kelch and Sylvia Guckian went on a Go for Life Training course as Class Leaders. 2 Classes were arranged on Monday afternoon and soon became so popular that 3 additional leaders, Maria Duffy, Phyllis Brady and Frances O’Neill were trained to cope with the workload.

There are now 2 classes of 35 with a waiting list.

 

  What Do We Do:-    We Lead the class in short exercise routines, Warm up exercises, Dancing –folk dances, line dancing, Memory Games, Exercise for mind/body, Bowling and Disk throwing, Stretch Exercises and Socialising Games    Benefits are – benefits are to improve and maintain balance, muscles strength, joint mobility, socialising and most important having a laugh.
